U.S. Ambassador to Iceland Jeffrey Ross Gunter has been named to the U.S. delegation that will attend the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz on January 27, 2020.
Steven T. Mnuchin, Secretary of the Treasury, will lead the delegation traveling to Auschwitz, which will also include U.S. Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher and U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg J. Randolph Evans.
“On the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we remember the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust and pay tribute to the American soldiers and other Allied Forces who fought tirelessly to defeat the Nazi regime. We also recommit ourselves to the fight against anti-Semitism and to the two words that cannot be repeated often enough: Never Again,” stated the White House Proclamation on the National Day of Remembrance of the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz.
