U.S. Ambassador Gunter’s 2020 Economic Dialogue
At the 2020 Economic Dialogue, U.S. Ambassador Gunter successfully fought for and delivered a signed Memorandum of Economic Cooperation between our two countries. Assistant Secretary Manisha Singh and her staff at the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs worked tirelessly with their Icelandic counterparts to achieve this outstanding result. This Memorandum is a significant and essential next step in the United States’ and Iceland’s economic relationship.
Supporting a New Generation
U.S. Ambassador Gunter gave the University of Iceland a $24,999 grant to start the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), which is part of the White House-led Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) project. AWE aims to encourage Icelandic women entrepreneurs to reach their full economic potential, thereby improving the country’s stability, security, and prosperity for everybody.
